Announcements for July 22, 2018

From our Lesson - The worth of souls is great in the sight of God / God wants all of His children to be watched over and cared for.  (4th Sunday topics)

Our lesson was taught by Angie Farr today.

President Russell M. Nelson said “A hallmark of the Lord’s true and living Church will always be an organized, directed effort to minister to the individual children of God and their families.”

The experiences of the sons of Mosiah illustrate that the way we see people affects how we minister to them. Compare the feelings and attitudes between the Sons of Mosiah (Mosiah 28:1-3), and the Nephites (Alma 26:23-26), toward the Lamanites. –Ponder the question – How can I learn to see people more as God sees them?

Doctrine and Covenants 18:10-16

10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;

11 For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.

12 And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.

13 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!

14 Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people.

15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!

16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!

***Remember our July goal from our Council discussion is to verbally express love and gratitude for someone who has blessed your life.  –Pass a “heart” felt compliment, hug or word of kindness to someone you are prompted to reach out to.  (We will ask for a few sisters to briefly report on their experiences at our next council discussion.)
